BT Closing Redcare Operations
BT have announced that they will be closing their Redcare operations with effect from 1st August, 2025, or earlier if the customer’s contract expires before then. Many Commercial Combined or Property Owners’ policies (often where the property is vacant) will have a condition on them specifically requiring this level of monitoring.
Redcare has traditionally been associated with intruder alarm systems However, it applies just as much to other equipment that requires remote signalling such as fire alarms, sprinkler systems or water leak detection systems, so managers of block of flats and commercial buildings should also plan for this important change.
If this applies to you, you should be thinking about moving your remote monitoring capability to another approved provider of an equivalent performance standard well before the expiry date, to avoid cover being voided.
