In conversation with James Woods on what it takes to be an effective insurance broker

Meet James Woods, Account Executive at Albanwise Insurance Services, a dedicated community champion for our Group’s charity initiatives, and a proud father to two cats.
 
With over 20 years in the insurance industry, James has become an integral part of the team- working his way from an account handler to an account executive. In a free-wheeling chat, he talks about his journey, and what it takes to be an effective insurance broker in the property industry.

Q. What do you enjoy most about being an insurance broker?

I enjoy building relationships and delivering top-notch service to our clients. There is nothing more rewarding than negotiating and securing the best deals for them. The insurance industry is constantly evolving, and you are always learning and growing along with it.

Q. How do you guide your clients – from their first enquiry to providing advice?

Customer journey is all about listening to clients’ needs and asking the right questions. We are transparent and thoroughly scope the entire market to find the best options. Staying up to date with current trends and market appetites ensures we provide accurate information and advice.

Q. How does the culture of the team support your professional and personal growth?

I joined Albanwise Insurance Services for its positive work culture. We are one team, working towards a shared goal, supporting each other, fostering relationships with our clients as well as our panel of insurers and underwriters. Our leaders support us in our career progression and knowledge development.

Q. Looking ahead, what are your future goals and aspirations?

I am currently working towards my CERT CII and look forward to continuing my growth within the Albanwise Insurance Services family.
